The biggest mistake newer players make is treating every ghost the same way, and that's a fast route to a game over screen. Each one has its own tendency, some hug your position closely while others drift toward open space, so watching their movement for a second or two before committing to a path pays off more than blind speed does. Power pellets are your best friend, obviously, but don't just grab one and charge blindly into the nearest ghost cluster; line up your approach so you can pick off two or three in a row before the effect wears off. Corners are where runs actually fall apart, so tap your direction changes early instead of waiting until you're right on top of the turn, because the response isn't instant and a half-second of hesitation is exactly what a ghost needs to close the gap. Keep an eye on the open lanes too. Sometimes the smartest move isn't finishing the dots in front of you, it's circling back through a cleared corridor to bait a ghost away from a pellet you still need. Patience beats panic almost every time here.
